Books. Beer. Good CompanyThe White Horse Trading Company is Seattle's premier late night antiquated collectible bookstore. This bookstore, which doubles as a small beer & wine tavern is the only tavern located in the historic Pike Place Market of Seattle, Washington. Proudly serving Samuel Smith brews, and fine wine, this small gem is perfect to wind down in from a busy day in the market, and have an intimate conversation with friends. Tucked away in Post Alley, this laid-back atmosphere welcomes you to sit down with the locals at the bar, or sit back and relax within one of our comfy leather couches, curl up with a nice book and a glass of wine. Each book on the shelves of this small store is handpicked by the owner, Joe Gilmartin. All of the books are antiquated collectibles. Joe has a passion for books, and especially for books about the history of England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, equestrian books, & memorable classics. Three of those books are featured here, which were randomly selected off of the shelves in the tavern. When walking through the door way, time will begin to slow down, and the 18th century London ambiance will take over. The small selection of Samuel Smith beers & wines, resonate the immense memorabilia of the English tavern, all the way down to the $2 bills, and dollar coins. Drinks range from $5-15 dollars, and our list of drinks can be found here. Our happy hour wine special is every Thursday from 5pm-7pm. The White Horse is open:
